Experience the benefits of being aligned with a global charity. You'll be inspired by our athletes as you share the joy of giving.
Special Olympics Australia partners with organisations to help us continue our essential work. It is through these partnerships that we have been able to change the lives of thousands of children and adults with an intellectual disability. We rely on the ongoing contribution of corporations and the larger community to continue to develop our programs.
In addition to financial assistance, there are many opportunities to align your organisation with Special Olympics Australia, including donations of products & services and cause-related marketing campaigns.
Special Olympics Australia runs weekly sporting programs, personal development programs and major competitions that directly improve the health and quality of life for Australians with an intellectual disability.
For information on sponsorship please contact Fiona Ellis, General Manager, Marketing, Engagement and Corporate Affairs at fionae@specialolympics.com.au or 1300 225 762.
Through our workplace giving program we’ve made it easy for you to help Special Olympics athletes achieve their personal best. Simply fill out your details and regular donation amount and provide the form to your payroll officer who will deduct your regular donation from your wage. By donating just $5 through your payroll, you will receive a tax deduction which means we receive $5 but you’ll only pay $3.37. So, for the cost of a coffee you can make a real difference to people with an intellectual disability.

There are almost 711,000 Australians living with an intellectual disability. They are the largest disability population in Australia and every two hours another child is diagnosed. People with an intellectual disability are among the most marginalised groups, are routinely excluded from ongoing sports programs that stress fitness, skill development and quality coaching and competition - compounding the social isolation and chronic health issues they face.
For people with an intellectual disability who may not fit into mainstream clubs Special Olympics Australia offers a welcoming environment where they can meet people of similar ability and develop skills at their own pace. Athletes get fit, have fun and make friends, which improves their ability to succeed in all walks of life. Families gain a network of support, are better able to understand their child or sibling's capabilities and can see hope for the future.
